Finding out the Velocity Anisotropy Parameter for some Globular Clusters: the case of stationary model

چکیده
The problem of determination of the velocity anisotropy parameter from star density profiles in globular clusters is considered. The calculations are performed for 10 globular clusters. The simple way for study of the dependence of anisotropy parameter on radial distance is used.

Fokker-Planck Models of Star Clusters with Anisotropic Velocity Distributions III. Multi-Mass Clusters
The evolution of globular clusters driven by two-body relaxation is investigated by means of numerical integration of the two-dimensional Fokker-Planck equation in energy–angular momentum space. The twodimensional Fokker-Planck equation allows the development of velocity anisotropy. We include a spectrum of stellar masses in this paper. The radial anisotropy develops, that is, the radial veloci...
متن کاملEvolution of Multi-mass Globular Clusters in Galactic Tidal Field with the Effects of Velocity Anisotropy
We study the evolution of globular clusters with mass spectra under the influence of the steady Galactic tidal field, including the effects of velocity anisotropy. Similar to single-mass models, velocity anisotropy develops as the cluster evolves, but the degree of anisotropy is much smaller than isolated clusters. Except for very early epochs of the cluster evolution, nearly all mass component...
متن کاملSoret Dufour Driven Thermosolutal Instability of Darcy-maxwell Fluid
Linear stability of double diffusive convection of Darcy-Maxwell fluid with Soret and Dufour effects is investigated. The effects of the Soret and Dufour numbers, Lewis number, relaxation time and solutal Darcy Rayleigh number on the stationary and oscillatory convection are presented graphically. The Dufour number enhances the stability of Darcy-Maxwell fluid for stationary convection while it...
متن کاملUsing distant globular clusters as a test for gravitational theories
We propose to determine the stellar velocity dispersions of globular clusters in the outer halo of the Milky Way in order to decide whether the dynamics of the Universe on large scales is governed by dark matter or modified Newtonian dynamics (MOND). We show that, for a number of Galactic globular clusters, both the internal and the external accelerations are significantly below the critical ac...
متن کاملDynamical Evolution of the Mass Function of Globular Star Clusters
We present a series of simple, largely analytical models to compute the effects of disruption on the mass function of star clusters. Our calculations include evaporation by two-body relaxation and gravitational shocks and mass loss by stellar evolution. We find that, for a wide variety of initial conditions, the mass function develops a turnover or peak and that, after 12 Gyr, this is remarkabl...
